Nassau County Grand Larceny

A Nassau County Grand Larceny Lawyer can tell you that Grand Larceny is a commonly committed crime, and is often seen in the context of Shoplifting. The crime of Grand Larceny involves the stealing of property that is worth more than $1,000. If the crime involves less than that dollar amount, it is considered Petit Larceny. If you have been accused of a theft crime including Grand Larceny, shoplifting, burglary or White collar crimes, speak with a Nassau County Grand Larceny Lawyer from our office. You could be facing serious legal consequences that include jail and large fines.

There are four degrees of Grand Larceny:

4th Degree Grand Larceny: If the property stolen is worth over $1,000., or is an item of religious worship, a public record or a firearm, this section will apply. It is considered an E felony.

3d Degree Grand Larceny: If the property stolen is worth $3,000. but it not more than $49,999.99, this section will apply, and is a D felony.

2d Degree Grand Larceny: If the property stolen is worth $50,000. but is not higher than $999,999., this section applies, and is a C felony.

1st Degree Grand Larceny: If the property stolen is worth #1,000,000., this section applies and is a B felony.

A Nassau County Grand Larceny Lawyer can explain that this crime is different from other theft crimes, because the dollar amounts of the property stolen are cumulative. If someone steals $1,000. worth of property every day from the same person for 50 days, they have committed Grand Larceny in the 2nd Degree. However if the defendant committed burglary, and stole $1,000. worth of articles from the same person over a period of 50 days, this person would be guilty of 50 counts of Burglary.

Client Reviews
My wife and I met under some unconventional circumstances. After I had some legal problems, Mr Bilkis and his firm continually got me out of trouble. I then had his firm represented my wife and he got her out of trouble! We are still married and got our ways straightened away. We both can't thank him enough for saving our lives and our families! I contacted Stephen Bilkis' office for an issue regarding a family member and I could not be happier with the results. I have recommended the firm to friends and family, all of whom were also ecstatic with Mr. Bilkis and all members of his staff. P.R.
I was in need of legal assistance for a very sensitive matter for a family member. I contacted the law offices of Stephen Bilkis & Associates, PLLC and was met with staff whose demeanor was supportive, compassionate and professional. The lawyer handling our case had many years of experience and treated us as if we were his own family. Our experience was so good, and we became so close to all of the staff and all of the attorneys who assisted us, that we consider them our extended family and continue to send them our home baked gifts for the holidays. P.A.K.
